How do I open a .priv file?
Drop your .priv file on this page, enter the password that was used when the file was created, and click Decrypt. Your original files will be available to download.
I entered the right password but it says 'wrong password'
Make sure you're entering the exact password, including uppercase and lowercase letters. Passwords are case-sensitive. If the file was tampered with during transfer, decryption will also fail even with the correct password.
The file says it has expired. Can I still decrypt it?
No. If the creator set an expiry date, the file cannot be decrypted after that date. This is by design - it protects time-sensitive documents. Ask the sender to create a new .priv file if you still need access.
Are my files uploaded to your server?
No. All decryption happens in your browser using the Web Crypto API. Your file and password never leave your device.
Can I open .priv files on my phone?
