Your file travels to our servers over TLS/HTTPS, encrypted end to end. Nothing is exposed in transit.
Processed in RAM
The conversion runs entirely in volatile memory, isolated per job. Your file is never written to a physical disk — not even a temporary copy.

The result streams straight back to your browser. The moment your download is ready, the work is done.
Wiped from memory
Your file is purged from RAM the instant your download completes. No backups, caches, or thumbnails — we cannot recover it, and neither can anyone else.

Our promises are not marketing — they are tested. PrivLab is topriv's research arm, where we publish the experiments behind our privacy-first tools, from parser attack surfaces to metadata leakage.
How many parsing engines sit behind a typical converter, how many CVEs they carry in public databases, and why patch latency — not patch count — is the metric that actually matters.
We attack our own conversion sandboxes the way a hostile file would — proving that even a compromised engine cannot reach the network or the disk.
Measuring the hidden EXIF, author tags, and document history that ordinary tools leave behind — and verifying that ours strip them by default.

Is PrivConvert really free?
Yes. 200+ tools, up to 250 MB per file, batch convert up to 20 files at once. No trials, no premium tier, no credit card required.
What happens to my files after conversion?
Your file is processed in server memory (RAM) and deleted the moment your download is ready. We never write files to disk or store them anywhere. We don't even know what you uploaded.
Do you track me or build a profile on me?
No. We don't fingerprint your browser, build user profiles, or track you across the web. The only cookies we use are for displaying ads. For full details on the limited, anonymous data we handle, see our Privacy Policy.
What is .priv encryption?
It's an open source encrypted file format we built. It encrypts your file content, filenames, and metadata with AES-256 - all on your device. No server involved. You can use it from your browser or terminal.
